Volunteering

Ever thought about being a volunteer?

Are you someone who’s friendly and approachable and can work as part of a team?

Is it important to you to give good customer service and support other to people to make positive changes and have their voice heard? Do you enjoy learning new things? Could you support Healthwatch Kirklees by sharing your skills and enthusiasm?

Do you have a few hours or some spare time to share to help to make positive changes in your local area?

If this is you please take a look at our opportunities below;

It is essential for us at Healthwatch that staff and volunteers we work together with are honest and transparent. It is also really important that staff and volunteers are polite and friendly and make all individuals we speak to, or who contact us feel comfortable and valued. We want every voice to count.

Volunteering opportunities

What can I do as a volunteer? There are lots of different ways you can get involved as a Healthwatch volunteer, from speaking to people about their experiences of health and social care to using your skills to support in the Healthwatch Kirklees office. Training and support is available for all roles. The most important thing we look for is a belief that people in Kirklees should have the best health and social care services possible, and a desire to be part of making that happen.

Healthwatchers

Healthwatch Kirklees needs you to be our eyes and ears in the community. We’re recruiting ‘Healthwatchers’ to make sure we are finding out as much about public opinion as we can. We need volunteers to go out in to their communities and talk to their family and friends to gather comments about their experience of using health and social care services.  We want to hear about things that are good and things which could work better.

This role is very flexible and you don’t need to commit a lot of time to doing this.

If you think that you might be interested in doing this, then please check out the role description below:
