Dear Anonymous
I am really sorry you feel that you have whatever reason not been well looked after at the surgery. Clearly from your comment it is impossible for me to help .

We all work extremely hard at Calder View to look after our patients the best we can we cant improve our service if people don't tell us what we have done wrong.

In situations like this it would be really helpful if you had taken the time to speak to me in order that we could have got to the bottom of your concerns . If you wish to give me a ring I would be more that happy to try to help .

home visit

January 16, 2018
Refused a home visit to an elderly patient with alzheimers who lives alone. Told problem is not urgent has to wait a week for an appointment and someone has to take time off work to get the patient to the surgery.

Dear Anonymous
I am sorry to hear of this situation. However without further detail it is difficult to understand what has happened here. Home visits are for patients who are truly housebound and who cannot get out of the house at all. Some conditions or problems cannot be dealt with via a home visit as they require investigation / physical examination or referral for a diagnostic service ( eg xray ) which cannot be dealt with in a patients home. We would always encourage patients to attend surgery even with the help of a relative as home visits are time consuming for the GP. Often they can see 3 or 4 patients in surgery in the time it would have taken to do a home visit.
I would be happy to discuss this situation further if you wish to contact me directly .

Discuss Pill

November 21, 2017
I went to see the Nurse in regards to my pill that I had recently started the second month but wasn’t working with me for various reasons, the nurse took her time to explain to me what the different pills means and what would work and what wouldn’t. I have been on the pill for a long time and no doctor has ever taken the time out to explain to me what the pills do and it just means a lot.

un caring GP's

November 14, 2017
I came for a medication review which took 5 mins, I needed to speak to her about an issue I have had for 8 months.... I literally had to make a stand for her to deal with me.... uncaring... the patient before me had been in with her for 25 mins and when I went in she apologies for the wait and said that the patient prior to me had to talk to her about a few things... so why did she firstly refuse to deal with my medical problem..... why didn't I arrange to see a doctor 8 months ago??... well my usual doctor hasn't been to the surgery (ill or something else) for months and months.... I moved to this doctors after been at my old one for 46 years and they only reason I moved is because my old doctors had all retired and they just had locums working..... I thought moving to this one would be okay because they had female resident doctors.... maybe it wasn't a good move..
I have blood in my urine so if I hadn't have stood my ground I would probably just carry on they way I was.. which isn't good - I don't have faith in doctors no more... at my old doctors I could sit in there for 30 mins and they wouldn't have ever said YOUR TIME IS UP... what happened to the NHS and the caring of doctors...
what if I had a breakdown what would they do then..... NOT HAPPY

Phone constantly engaged or out of order. Reception staff are unhelpful.

I am really sorry to hear you have problems getting through to surgery however there was a situation last week where telephones were out of order across all the health centres unfortunately this situation was completely out of our control and we had to wait for the engineers to come out.
Our Reception team work really hard and have lots to deal with generally speaking they are complemented on how helpful they are so if you have had a poor experience I can only apologise. That said it is very difficult to improve on issues if patients don't come and make me aware. As Practice Manager part of my role includes patient experience and sorting out issues relating to the running of the practice. My door is always open so please in future come and speak to me .

Thank you
