Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI)

I was referred from Calderdale Hospital for extra blood tests. It's my first time here, they asked me to come in the morning, without a set appointment time. And I got the results now, so it was all very quick. I'm really pleased with that.

Everything was explained to me well at my appointment.

I've been experiencing pains in my arms for the past few months. I've been twice to A&E and I've seen the same consultant both times. Each time they've sent me away and asked me to go back to my GP for a referral to see a specialist. When I went to see the GP before he just gave me ibuprofen and that didn't really touch the pain.

Why can't a specialist deal with it here? And give me pain relief? There should be more information here. I've got an appointment with a specialist through the GP that I'm waiting for now.

I always feel that the outpatient department at HRI is very well organised from getting appointment letters out to you, and informing you of any unforeseen changes the department itself the waiting area is always calm and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
I have never waited longer than 5 minutes for an appointment here. Always lots of parking too which is great.

I stayed on ward 17 earlier in the year. I felt I was treated so badly by the staff and with so little respect I discharged myself and have since put in a formal complaint.

every one I saw was friendly and caring and put me at ease and reassured me.

The appointment felt rushed and there was not much time to discuss in detail my complex health.

I waited over an hour to be seen and the staff were rude and snappy

Very happy with the care, appointment was long enough for us to ask questions and felt listened to and given clear advice. We were seen to quickly and the whole process from referral to treatment has been very efficient.

I just want to say we are so grateful for all the support offered to my father. All the staff went above and beyond for us as a family at a very difficult time.

Outrageous that I'm in such horrific pain, can no longer walk (4 months ago was running marathons) and yet nearly 7 weeks and no mri result through
