Lack of communication and follow up

Had tests at hospital, told to expect results in 2 weeks. No contact from GP, rang after 2 weeks, told results not there. Waited a while longer and then completed e-consult and finally received a response. Disappointed that I received no contact from surgery and had to chase.

We do not contact patients who have a normal blood test result. We have many patients each day that are booked in for blood tests. I apologise if you were not advised of this at your appointment and will feed this back to the team.

Appointment booking system difficult

When I have tried to book on line it has said there are no appointments. If I am calling up for an on the day appointment it is because I need to be seen. I don't come often.

Helpful, flexible and understanding

They have been really helpful , flexible and understanding. The only thing that has been an issue is when I have had a diagnosis then when referred it has been something else. Directed very much to medication instead I would like a more holistic whole person approach, for example Talking therapies/ CBT.

Appointments

Phoning up at 8 am to be 15 th in the queue and then you hang on to be told there are no appointments left but you cannot book for the next day and have to go through the whole process again the next day. The standard answer is to be offered an appointment in 3 weeks, but sometimes you need one sooner than that . Staff can only do what they can do . I prefer the old system

Staff try their best

The staff try their best but it's the same old story with getting appointments. Having to ring up on a morning to be 14th in a queue. I thought it was a good idea to book on line but it doesn't seem to work at all. When I tried there was no appointments so gave up and it isn't because I wanted to see a specific doctor or date. I would like to be told about other services available in surgery that I can access or be referred to such as a dietician / nutrition service.

I am sorry that you have not been able to get through to the surgery. Our phone lines are constantly busy with Covid and Flu enquiries. Our receptionists are answering the phones as quickly and as safely as possible.

We have recently reviewed our online appointments and with the increased demand, we have now increased the number of online appointments available.

Unfortunately we do not have a Dietitian at the practice but we have alternate referral pathways that can be discussed with our Health Care Assistants at the practice.

Mental Health appointments

Booking appointments should be more flexible rather than having to call up on a morning. I would like mental health appointments.

Many thanks for your comments and review. So that we can assess your needs you will need to be seen by one of our clinicians at the surgery. If you are unable to ring the surgery during the morning, we do have online routine appointments available to book, or alternatively if your appointment is urgent and you need to be seen on the day please ring the surgery, or alternatively please submit an e-consult on line which our clinicians will review the same day.

Booking appointment system doesn't work

Once you are here it is fine and they are all great but the booking appointments system doesn't work. It says there are no appointments, It's the worst idea in the world to have to ring up at 8am in the morning. It's not flexible for working people or parents on school run, you can't spend so long waiting on the phone to get through. When you go online it says there are no appointments which means you end up going to A+ E. To pre book you have to wait about 3 weeks and you can't book ahead for 8 weeks for repeats as the system doesn't pre-book that far ahead. The receptionists are doing the best in the circumstances. It was never perfect before but has got worse. I would just like to be able to call up and get an appointment over the next few days. Evenings /Saturday appointments would help.

wait for routine blood test results

I sometimes have to wait up to 3 weeks for a routine blood test result which seems a long time to wait for a telephone appointment. could this be made available sooner. It would be nice to be assigned a doctor and know who they are.

Doctors and nurses are excellent.

There has been problems since covid but it is getting back to what it was. I call up to get appointments and ring at 8am and often in a queue but usually get one. It would be better to pre- book appointments rather than ring up on the day for less urgent / routine appointments. Reception staff very good

We do have pre-bookable routine appointments that are available to book on line.
