Should people who are overweight have to wait for operations?

 

Recently, the NHS in York announced plans to delay elective (planned) operations for patients who are obese, have a BMI of 30 or above.  This means that if patients are considered to be obese they could have their surgeries delayed for up to a year or until they have lost 10% of their body weight.
