We are looking to engage with children and young people in Kirklees and Calderdale to find out their experiences with NHS Health and Social care services. We want to make sure your voice is heard, regardless of your age, on services such as GP’s, Dentist, mental health services, and even opticians to make sure they are accessible and friendly for children.

Primary School Workshop

We have created a workshop for Primary school children (years 5 and 6) that aims to understand how they feel when they visit GP services. It also looks at what could be done with these services to make them more child friendly.

Thornhill Academy SMSC Day

Healthwatch Kirklees were invited to attend Thornhill Academy’s SMSC day alongside some other organisation to deliver 5 sessions throughout the day to all of their Year 9 classes.

We held an interactive, hour long session about the use of Digital technology for Health and Social care. We had several activities during the hour revolving around this topic. Find an overview of the day and our learning if you download the document on the right.

Vlogging for health

Healthwatch Kirklees are working with Locala to find Young People in our community that want to create ‘Vlogs’ in order to help guide other young people through NHS services.
