In addition to providing their usual services, this opticians is also part of the Primary Eyecare and Assessment Referral Service (PEARS); conditions that can be seen under the service include:
• Red eye or eyelids
• Dry Eye or gritty and uncomfortable eyes
• Irritation and inflammation of the eye
• Significant recent sticky discharge from the eye or watery eye
• Recently occurring flashes or floaters
• In growing eyelashes
• Foreign body in the eye

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT A SIGHT TEST

If you have a major eye condition that is being regularly monitored by your optometrist or hospital eye service, this will not be covered by this service, for example, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma.

Tests Very Thorough

I was able to get an appointment at short notice for both contact lens and normal eyesight test. I was seen on time both tests were very thorough and good explanations were given.

I went for some glasses

I went in for some glasses she said someone would ring me when they are ready. Weeks came and went no phone call so on Saturday I phoned and they picked up the phone and put it down. I went in for my glasses Monday I think thats enough for me

Waited in the queue for ages, when got to the desk was told to take a seat took 20 minutes for someone to come and see me. I was updated about the waiting time, but still not acceptable. Staff were friendly but rushing round like mad, clearly short staffed! massive queues and loads of unhappy customers!
