First introduction to the NHS in Huddersfield ( we are not Calderdale or Greater Huddersfield!) The paramedics were absolutely amazing, what they had to deal with that day was more than any work conditions anyone should have to, well done and thank you. The staff in HRI accident and emergency, Ward 1 and Ward 20: Your empathy, patience and care are outstanding. thank you so much. The hospital cleanliness was spot on. The catering was also well presented, smelt and tasted lovely. The presentation both decor and information was brilliant and the staff very approachable despite being extremely busy. Thank you to all the HRI in what ever capacity you work, we have found you all lovely and nothing was to much trouble. The only negatives: 1:The outside of the building looks a little tired but if the block of flats in the town centre can be improved has they have then our hospital deserves the same, not knocking down just so the powers that be can meet targets, soupposed unnecessary improvements or to cover another hospitals PFI debt 2: I feel when a patient comes in to any hospital has an emergency patient and stays in then that patients Gp should be informed and not just on discharge. 3: There are no notice boards available, they used to be in the entrance so you could put posters/ information up? I asked about this as I wanted to put one up but was told posters have to go to the Enquires Office but they probably wouldn't allow the one I had because it was for a March and Family Fun Day organised by Hands Of HRI, the residents of Huddersfield who dint want the proposed changes to their hospital.
