Exceptional

I called about a broken tooth. I had an appointment within 4 days I refused an earlier
appointment because of othercommitments. I went to
theappointment with real
trepidation. I knew if it was to
be pulled I couldn't do it that
day. To be honest I would have
run. I told the dentist the same. I needed an x-ray the tooth
was in real poor condition, it
was deeply decayed but there
was a chance of saving it. The
dental surgeon Jamal went
through my options. I told him I
was ready for just leaving in
which he said if you do but
come back in a few week it
shouldn't be much worse. He
also said if you have it done It
may not work and you'll still
need an extraction. He asked me what I wanted to do. Jamal left me with absolutely no pressure for minutes. No questions, nothing whilst I mulled it over. He did say earlier he would have it filled if it was himself as it would affect my pallet if I had it extracted. It cot me £1000 2 years t ago. I considered for what seemed an age. The turmoil in my head was awful. I'm 70 and I really didn't want to do anything. No pressure from Jamal I said fill it. Filled with dread of the injection Jamal said are you sure, I said yes go ahead. The next thirty seconds awaiting the injection, the fear " it's never been this bad, always dread" he injected me. Nothing, a little scratch, honestly almost nothing. Jamal let let the lnjetion do it's work for a minute or two, got on with his work and I felt nothing. I don't know how much is filling, I think most of the tooth. It's sensitive but getting less after two days. Even if I have to have it extracted I wont be scared now. Especially if it's Jamal. I have to say my regular dentist has never hurt me. For some reason this time I was frightened, for no reason it seems.

Left me waiting and ignored me until the dentist appeared then she was nice as pie like a jecjel and hose
Great hygienist who explains things clearly

Visited the hygienist who was great. She really takes the time to listen to you and also explained everything she needed to in a non-technical, accessible way. Took the time to show me my gum charts and also compared them to previous ones which was really helpful. No-one enjoys visiting the dentist but she does make it bearable.
Standard check-up but felt a little rushed
June 19, 2024
Didn't really have to wait long before was called into my check-up. Got a nice welcome and asked a couple of questions, however, I did feel that I was being a bit rushed and the dentist wasn't really listening to what I was saying. He may well have been taking everything in but it just didn't necessarily feel that way. Check-up itself was a standard one although no polish at the end which I was expecting. Nice reception staff.
Great service, friendly and Covid secure

I went for a routine check-up. Had to wait quite a few weeks for an appointment - understandable as emergency and urgent patients are priority. You have to be let into the building answer a few Covid-related questions and have your temperature checked. Staff really friendly and helpful. A bit apprehensive now its changed to BUPA but didn't see any negative differences in service.
Good

Put you at ease, and don't recommend you any unnecessary treatment which is always a good thing for a dentist
Efficient service

They text me to tell me when my appointments due. Give decent times for appointments. All staff efficient and friendly. Clean, tidy.
