Delay for equipment costs quality of life/ NH
I was totally disappointed when we had to wait for a very long period for a manual wheelchair only then to be told there is no funding and we have to wait for our turn in the list. By this time, due to rapid deterioration, we required a powered wheelchair as advised by the consultant. The wait went on and anxiety and concerns increased for needed equipment. A complaint letter was written to the manager which we didn't get any acknowledgement for. We eventually had to take our case to our MP and complain to PALS. Even our consultant sent an urgent letter to wheelchair services to raise concerns regarding our case. We then eventually received our manual and powered wheelchair delivered by the old and new manager. They had to reorder the manual wheelchair as our son had grown during the long wait.
