Unhelpful and poor communication

July 25, 2024
Last year I was referred for my son and the arfid pathway and was accepted. Then I was told the pathway was delayed. No news and my sons eating/diet has become more restricted. Contacted thriving kirklees said they would have to do another assessment but this time he does not meet the criteria and refused help on the pathway. Even though he is worse than he was last year.

ASC pathway impossible to access

October 22, 2019
The process for referral to access the ASD assessment pathway is difficult and frustrating. There does not seem to be a clear or logical pathway, every step forward is met with challenges and obstacles which appear to be designed to prevent anyone accessing the support needed. The views, opinions and concerns of the parent are dismissed and only the observations of certain health professionals appear to be acceptable. No one should have to fight to get help, support and resources for their child and have to justify their concerns. We are 10 months into the process and are not yet on a waiting list.
