Walk In Centre (Locala)

The Locala Walk in Centres are a nurse led service with a dedicated team of experienced health professionals. They provide assessment, advice and treatment of minor illnesses and a selection of minor injuries. A Walk in Centre gives you fast and convenient access to local NHS services, information and treatment without needing an appointment. You don't need to book or register just walk in and be seen by the team of experienced health professionals. The service does not replace your local GP or hospital services but complement them.

Reassuring and helpful

Excellent service and support from the walk-in centre at Dewsbury District Hospital. The nurse I saw was so reassuring and caring, I explained I wasn't great in clinical situations and she was both quick, efficient and explained everything I needed to know. I felt that I was treated as an individual and not a number.
Just how a nurse should be.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I will share with the team at Dewsbury Walk In service and also with their management team. This feedback is fabulous to hear as the team are working extremely hard to meet demand with ever increasing numbers of patients attending the service due to the pandemic and other pressures.
