Is volunteering for me?
Have you always fancied getting involved in volunteering but didn’t know where to start? Are you worried you can’t commit to a weekly set day each week?
Well, guess what here at Healthwatch Kirklees we have flexible volunteering roles to suit all. If you are interested in making a difference in your community by listening to people to find out if health and care services are working for them, then join us.
Our volunteers play a vital role in helping people to have a voice by listening to their experiences.

What sort of things might I do as a volunteer?
There’s a lot to get involved in here at Healthwatch Kirklees:
- Could you support our staff at outreach sessions by listening to people’s experiences of health and social care?
- Are you interested in helping us visit services to ensure they provide people with the right service and support?
- Would you like to help gather health and social care feedback online?
- Perhaps you would like to help by gathering feedback from your own family and friends.
- Can you raise awareness of the work we do at events?
- Do you enjoy proofreading and checking reports?
- Fancy representing us at hospital trust meetings or helping the staff team to design, analyse and complete engagement surveys for the general public is your thing.
These are just some of the many things you might help us with. Give us a call on t:01924 450379 to discuss what your interest might be.
Most of all, join a happy, vibrant team that wants to improve services for all.
Why not start something new? Sign up now to be a volunteer and be ready to start in the New Year!
Healthwatch Kirklees needs you to be our eyes and ears in the community. We’re recruiting ‘Community Engagement & Outreach volunteers’ to ensure we find out as much about public opinion as possible. We need volunteers to go out into their communities and talk to their family and friends to gather comments about their experience of using health and social care services. We want to hear about things that are good and things which could work better.
This role is very flexible and you don’t need to commit a lot of time to doing this.

It is essential for us at Healthwatch that our staff and volunteers we work together with are honest and transparent. It is also really important that staff and volunteers are polite and friendly and make all individuals we speak to or who contact us feel comfortable and valued. We want every voice to count.
