An opportunity to inform the new Curriculum for obstetricians and gynaecologists
We had an overwhelming response from people who spoke to us about their experiences of maternity services in Kirklees and Calderdale.
We thought some people may be interested in the opportunity below:
The topics and course of study for Obstetricians and Gynaecologists trainees is currently being revised. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is forming a public insight group so the new curriculum is shaped by people who use these services, as well as by clinical experts.
This is your chance to have your say, not only about the medical knowledge and practical skills you feel specialists should have by the time they qualify, but also the wider qualities they should develop when training. We know that the communication skills Obstetricians and Gynaecologists doctors have is so important to their patients, and the ability to support and empower them to make informed choices about their health. Being part of this group will allow you to influence how these elements are incorporated into the course/curriculum, so specialists in this field are equipped to deliver the highest quality service they can.
We want to make sure the course is informed by a wide cross-section of people from around the UK. This includes people who have experienced particular health conditions and outcomes and individuals from a variety of backgrounds. We are also welcoming interest from those who have understanding (either personal or professional) of particularly excluded groups who may have specific needs or face barriers relating to healthcare.
