Hypermobility West Yorkshire

February 7, 2018

Healthwatch Calderdale is leading a Yorkshire-wide project on hypermobility.  It wishes to develop an understanding of the health and social care experiences of people with hypermobility syndromes.  In the first instance it is looking for people with hypermobility syndromes to give feedback on their experience of health and social care services via a focus group at the York EDS UK Support Group on Saturday 10th February 2018 (1.30pm to 4:30pm).  The focus group will be very informal and should take up no more than one hour of the meeting.  The venue is:

St Edwards Church Hall

Tadcaster Road

York

YO24 1QG

Your views will help Healthwatch identify the key health and social care issues affecting people with hypermobility.  They will be used to formulate a questionnaire, which will allow us to collect feedback from people with hypermobility syndromes across Yorkshire.  Ehlers Danlos Support UK, Postural Tachycardia Syndrome UK and the Hypermobility Syndromes Association (HMSA) have all agreed to let us use their networks to reach people with hypermobility.    We intend to share the outcomes of our engagement with local commissioners and service so that they have a clearer picture of health care experiences for this group of people.  We also intend to interact with commissioners and service providers to work towards addressing any service issues identified.
