New faces join local NHS organisation

NHS North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has welcomed three new members to its governing body.

Dr Richard Jenkins, Medical Director at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has joined the CCG in the role of Secondary Care member.  He replaces Dr Matt Shepherd who left the CCG in March.

The CCG has also appointed Sarah Sowden, Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner based at Dr Mahmood and Partners, Ravensthorpe in the role of Practice Nurse member.  She replaces Kath Greaves who stepped down from this role in June.

Fatima Khan-Shah has been appointed as a lay member with responsibility for patient and public involvement.  Fatima takes over the role from Kiran Bali, whose term of office recently came to an end.

Dr David Kelly, Chair of NHS North Kirklees CCG and local GP said: “We’re really delighted to have Richard, Sarah and Fatima join our governing body.  They all have expertise and experience which will be invaluable to their roles and will be of great benefit to the CCG.

I would like to thank Matt, Kath and Kiran for all their hard work and commitment throughout their role as governing body members for the CCG.”

In addition to the new appointments, Dr Khaled Naeem has been re-appointed to the governing body.
