PIP Assessment Centre Success

Atos have confirmed to us that the lease has been signed on a new PIP assessment centre in Kirklees (30 Market Street, Huddersfield), they are currently completing works to the building – to be opened 18th May 2016.

The issue of PIP claimants having to travel excessive mileage to be assessed for their Personal Independent Payment came to our attention at the end of 2015.  With a social media campaign, and help from our stakeholders and local MP’s, Healthwatch Kirklees were able to persuade Atos to open a PIP assessment centre in Huddersfield.
