Support for Carers in Kirklees

As this year’s Dementia Action Week focuses on #curethecaresystem we’re pleased to be able to share this event from Carers Count, Kirklees.

The pandemic has exposed problems in the care system like never before and we want to support and champion carers in our local area who are often underheard and undervalued.

This event run by Carers Count is a great opportunity to find out more about support locally for carers and an opportunity for managers and supervisors to identify staff who are caring and signpost employees when they need it the most.

On 25th May 2021 employers and staff in the care system are invited to come together on zoom for an informal session. During the session, you’ll gain the local knowledge to be able to refer with confidence.

The session will cover:

• The first-hand experience of a working carer.

• A local business approach and benefits for employers and employees.

• Local support services available in Kirklees.

The session will benefit local carer support organisations in Kirklees to help you understand more about what support is available for carers.  You will hear from Carers Count, Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire and The Kirkwood. Find out more about where to go for advice, support and help in your caring role. You’ll also find out more about new digital resources available through Carers UK.

The carers count forum gives space for employers to share best practice and experiences to benefit you, your organisation and employees. Carers count welcome all who are interested in employee wellbeing and supporting carers: Senior Business Leaders, HR , Managers, supervisors and SMEs.

Please book your place through eventbrite link below to receive the zoom joining instructions.
