The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists is recruiting paid Lay Examiners to assess O&G Doctors
The RCOG works to improve women’s health care across the world through improving the standard of care delivered to women, encouraging the study of obstetrics and gynaecology, and advancing the science and practice of O&G. The College is committed to involving patients and the public in our work to inform our understanding of the needs of O&G service users.
The College has recently had plans approved by the General Medical Council to include trained lay examiners in the process for assessing O&G doctors. They will be examining alongside clinical examiners in the areas of Communication, Patient Safety and Information Gathering from the perspective of the patient during role-play scenarios. We are recruiting a pool of examiners to undertake this paid position when the exams take place twice per year.
