I am a vulnerable patient. Managed to rebuild my own affairs after social care meddling. Taking the lead in my own refferals. My doctors and surgery advice is in my own opinion not recommended. Felt worried and afraid to go to my own doctors.. Feel relieved taking command of my own affairs. My Doctor in my eyes is fired. No one on Slaithwaite speaks highly as well. In future its hello boots and HRI

have to wait over a week for an appointment

The telephone system changed a few years ago where you are now put in a queue (sometimes 8 or 9 before you), not only that but you are paying for the call while you are in the queue! Before this system was adopted you would have got an engaged tone which meant you had to phone again later. But at least you were not charged for being in a queue. Apparently they make money out of this latest telephone system.

Polite and Friendly

Until recently my GP was Colne Valley Group practice and i attended both the Slaithwaite and Marsden surgeries. Always polite and friendly and I always get an appointment.

Positive experience for over 60 years. Very nice, helpful staff
Quick to get appointments
Go that extra mile - ring for a taxi. They also reassure me during my appointments and care for me.

Inefficient booking

Telephone lines are all merged and so you find you're 10th/11th in the queue when you call. Easy to get children booked in, but adult appointments are difficult, waiting weeks. Need better efficiency. Overall care generally good. It seems like they're all too busy to deal with people!

Coping with addiction

Due to past issues using the facilities such as the doctors, lifeline and on track the doctors were absolutely excellent in giving support and long term help. I would have to mention the service as a positive spot for anyone facing addiction.
