gum. Was given an appointment within 24 hours of calling the surgery, very impressive in current covid situation.
I was expecting to be told I had an infection and be given antibiotics so it came as a shock to be told that the problem was a dental abscess and would need either root canal treatment or an extraction. The dentist explained that she was willing to try and save my tooth by doing the root canal treatment but she wasn't confident that it would be successful because of the condition of the tooth itself. So we decided the best option was to remove the tooth.
My tooth was removed there and then which was a little traumatic as i wasn't prepared for it but everyone involved was so kind and lovely to me that it made the whole experience so much easier. They explained clearly what actions I needed to take regarding aftercare for the extraction and I was given printed information to take home, all whilst being assured that they were at the end of the phone if I had any concerns or problems during the healing process.
I'd glad a didn't ignore the pain in my gum as it obviously needed attention and would only have worsened if left alone.
I honestly can't recommend Kirkheaton Dental highly enough, they were there when I needed them in the midst of all the crazy covid situation and looked after me so well. So very grateful to all involved.
