Struggle to get my results

I don't use the internet so call up for my appointments. I struggle to get the results results for blood tests.

Many thanks for your enquiry.

There are different ways in which you can obtain your blood test results.

You can ring the surgery, register for on line access, but please be reassured that any abnormal blood results, the practice would contact the patient to discuss further by telephone.

New call system horrendous

Nurses and GP's are great. I use econsult sometimes but can't use it for the kids. So I have to call up and can be left waiting . But the reception staff are helpful when you get through and good with the kids and they do try to get them in the same day. For adults i ring up at 8am and then get through at 8.20 am and there are no appointments left.

More information on Mental Health

Hard to get an appointment on a morning, It takes ages to get through and then sometimes you have to keep trying for a few days to get one. More information and support on mental health at appointments would be helpful. No one has told me about other
support services that are available. I use econsult which is useful but it can't do everything like repeat prescriptions. I would like information told to me about how I can get repeat prescriptions without having to call up and order them.

I would be grateful if you can contact myself direct at the practice when convenient to discuss further information and support on mental health appointments.

The E Consults will not allow you to order repeat medication, but you are able to order via on line access. On line access will allow you to order medication, view your test results and access your medical notes. If you would like access on line please do not hesitate to contact the surgery and our reception team will be happy to assist.

Appointments

Getting an appointment on the day can be tricky. You have to ring up at 8am on the dot to get a same day appointment. They are good for children's appointments and never had an issue for them. If you want an extended appointment it is difficult to get. It can be over 3 weeks to wait for a follow up appointment.

We are extremely busy and I appreciate your frustration.

We have recently increased our phone lines and have recruited a further Receptionist. We are promoting our on line booking system for routine appointments and E Consults on line, which will hopefully reduce the incoming calls and allow for the 'on the day appointments'.

The routine follow up appointments are currently a 2 to 3 week wait.

It can be a problem getting appointments. I don't use the internet so call up to book and I can be left waiting to get through.

I rarely visit the surgery and used econsult for the first time. I don't have any issues when making appointments or attending the visits. Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Doctors listen.

The doctors in general are really good. The receptionists are normally good as well. I don't think they are often told about everything so end up going around in circles with communication and call backs .

Appointments

I have to ring every day to get an appointment . I would prefer to be able to call up and book for a few days ahead, this would help as I have children to take to school. Sometimes they suggest an appointment but it's over 4 weeks ahead and that's just to talk about test results. They don't tell you what services might be available to you and I don't know what's available around here. There are posters in the reception area but no one tells you about them or refers you to them.

If your appointment is not for on the day you can book your appointment on line with on line access and you will also be able to view your test results on line. If you would like on line access, please contact the surgery and our reception team will be happy to assist.

We do promote different services in the reception waiting room and we are also currently purchasing a new website, there will be a section on up to date services and information which will hopefully support our patients.

I cannot ring at 8 am

Before covid I would have given 5 stars but since then it has ben an issue to see a doctor. I am a front line worker and this affects me and others massively as I have had to take the day off to be seen today. If I go on the system it says it's about 4 weeks to get an appointment. I cannot ring at 8 am because of the job I do so when I can call and they offer me an appointment for that day I cannot make it that day as I do not work locally. I would like to be able to book an appointment for a few days time so I can plan to be away from work. If I use econsult I am told to ring the doctors and then finally offered an appointment with the nurse practitioner
