Repeat prescriptions are a nightmare

Having tried to order a repeat prescription online unsuccessfully, I went into Lepton Surgery and requested it from the receptionist. Three days later the chemist still hadn't received it, so I went into the surgery again to find that they hadn't progressed it, so they would make sure it was put through as a priority. Another three days pass and still it's not at the chemist, so I have to make a third visit to the surgery to request them to expedite it again.

It should not take three visits to get a repeat prescription. This suggests that the management system for repeat prescriptions there is failing.

I am very sorry that you appear to have had problems obtaining getting your prescription processed, this in not our usual procedure. Usually the only reason is normally if you are due for a medication review that we cannot process your request. If you would like to give me some details I would be more than happy to look into the matter.

The reason I am now with another much more professional practice where the g.p's show empathy and sympathy and do not make you feel like an inconvenience the moment you walk into the surgery! Shame the real doctors retired.

visit to doctor

I was feeling very unwell, and after a week I made an appointment to see one of the doctors. After explaining how I felt he asked questions, checked my record and medication, and examined me thoroughly to eliminate any serious problems.
I was very impressed by the care and time he took, and was relieved to know nothing was badly wrong, just a viral infection. Advised paracetamol for headache, plenty of fluids and rest.

Availability and booking on line in advance is good. I like the duality that you can use both surgeries- Kirkheaton and Lepton.

Appointment System

The only thing that I don't like is you can't see the same GP when you want. I would like more continuous care with same GP. Can get same day appointment quite often.

Difficult to get appointments.One doctor excellent others very mixed, don't listen, Had issues with prescription service but office manager has said will try to improve this.
some staff excellent and helpful some awful.
