Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI)

I broke my wrist after having the pot removed I was seen by the consultant who told me it would be 12 months before my arm was back to normal with a dismissive shrug. When I asked about physio I was told this was no longer available and given a 2-page leaflet which of no use and sent on my way.
Thankfully I was able to pay privately for physio treatment and my arm was back to full strength after 4 months but had I not been in a position to do this I would have been left in an unstable state many more months without support.

The neurologistic I saw for only one consultation, didn't listen to my concerns, dismissed some of the symptoms of ME as likely caused by stress and prescribed CBT and graded exercise therapy despite this no longer being NICE guidelines as been shown to be inappropriate and make ME symptoms worse.

Alice at the clinic at Acre street is very nice and helpful . She has given me lots of information. I don’t get a regular invitation but i know i can ring up ti get an appointment. It would be helpful if someone did call me to arrange regular appointments for a check up which would encourage me to go . I can’t see to go onto the internet and have difficulty reading mail

Very good service , they supply magnifiers and i have had laser treatment.i have met with the Eclo at the clinic who was very helpful

The staff were very helpful and explained what was necessary at the time. I have a good service with regular appointments. I haven't been told about other additional support and services such as ECLO's but I haven't asked for it and it is not needed yet. I didn't know I could have injections until I came to this clinic . Staff organised, helpful and flexible with booking appointments.

During covid I was scared to visit hospital but I felt safe there, everything was sorted out seating etc was well managed and all precautions put in place . It was professional, thorough and pleasant experience . I have used other opthalmology services in other authorities so I do think I can compare them and this service was far by the best. It would be helpful if I could have later appointments rather than earlier in the morning .

i have been going for over a decade but i feel the information on what support is available to me is lacking, because I am independent and working with good central vision. It is a busy service and pre - covid appointments could last 2-3 hours but now you are in and out a lot faster and i had to ask for what support might be available to me and so only recently referred to a service that can help with financial and practical information and support to help me in the future.

I came here after having had a fall. I was assessed and eventually moved to Calderdale but they did not send my clothes with me and they were lost. I made a complaint at the time and 6 months later got a vacant apology.

A few months back I was there and waited a really long time despite there being no one else waiting in the waiting room. The car parking fees and very high too.
