Whatever nurses ordered was delivered

We had lots of items when my husband was ill in bed, from the bed to the hoist. Whatever the nurses ordered they brought. Then after my husband died we called them and they came quickly to collect it. They came with a list of what we'd been given and checked things one by one when they came to pick it up to make sure they got everything.

Clearly labelled number for returns

I got given walking sticks through the social worker at Accessible Homes and Medequip delivered them to my home. I had bed rails and walking sticks although now I've moved into a more accessible home so they are no longer needed. If I need to return anything the items are clearly labelled with their phone number on it.

It gets delivered quite quickly

I had things delivered to my home, I had a toilet handle and bed rails and a commode. They are very good on delivery. It gets delivered quite quickly, good communication with the call centre. Very good service, I don't have anything negative to say.

I found them alright

This is the first time I've had anything delivered from Medequip, through Locala. I've had two walking sticks and a walker. It took a bit of time for delivery because it was delayed a week. I found them alright.

I've had a recliner chair and a grab rail from them. They are ok and on time. There service is ok and they are pleasant enough.
I spoke to the OT two weeks ago, so it's not too long to wait. I know they have other people they are helping too.

They are really polite. They come for any repairs we need or they bring new equipment. They get here pretty fast. We've never had any issues with them. They keep open communication. The lady on the phone I speak to at Medequip is great! Also, tenants that live here get to know the Medequip staff, so it's personal.

Pallative nurse experince

Palliative patients get a fastrack service on equipment which Medequip do an excellent job of keeping up with.
But I have noticed families don't often get told when a delivery is going to be made or if they do it is just am or pm and not an estimated time of arrival, which for a palliative patient is very important as they want to be able to spend as much time private and quality time with family as possible and not be disturbed by unexpected deliveries.

Thankyou for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have said that families don't get any notice when a delivery is expected. We should be phoning all Services Users to arrange delivery of equipment. The only times we wont do this is when an order is placed on a emergency speed and we cannot contact the Service user, then we will do a blind visit to address to deliver the urgent equipment.

Items order for my wife by the Macmillan nurses on an afternoon visit, got a call from Medequip the next morning to say they could deliver around lunch time!

amnesty bins

I've never had an issue with my father's equipment but I am on a couple of disability support Facebook support groups and I've seen conversations on there about returning equipment not being easy.
I saw one person mention the amnesty bin at Dewsbury Health Centre but then when I tried to find more information about it on their website I couldn't see anything about it to find a local one near us.

Thankyou for your feedback. We always welcome ways that we could improve our service. We are sorry to hear that returning equipment when you had finished with it has not been easy. We have recently updated our website to show more locations where equipment can be dropped off and are looking to add more locations in the coming months. We have also recruited more drivers so that we are no able to offer collection of smaller pieces of equipment. We hope that if you need to use our services in the future that you have a better experience.
